Requirements

Registration

New clients are required to:
(1) complete a client and pet profile on our scheduling platform;

(2) review and sign our client agreement and liability release form;

(3) provide a copy of dog’s current vaccination records;

(4) schedule a daycare evaluation.

Health

All dogs must be free from parasites, ticks/fleas, and communicable diseases. Any dog that poses a risk to the health of the other dogs in our care will not be accepted at check-in. If our staff finds reason for concern while your dog is in Throw Me A Bone’s care, he/she will be separated from the group and we will contact you about picking them up and/or seeing a veterinarian. We will gladly welcome your dog back once they are healthy again and no longer pose a risk of infection.

Vaccinations

We want all dogs to be safe and healthy. As such, and in compliance with the New York City Department of Health (NYCDOH) and the recommendation of the American Veterinary Medical Association, we require proof of the following vaccinations from your veterinarian prior to using any of our services.

  • Rabies
  • DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus)
  • Bordetella (kennel cough preventative vaccine required every year)
Neutering / Spaying

We require all dogs (6) months or older to be neutered or spayed to schedule daycare and/or boarding services. Puppies that are under (6) months and not yet neutered or spayed are welcome to schedule their daycare/boarding evaluation.

Evaluation

Each new dog will go through an evaluation process with our team prior to joining daycare or boarding services. If the first hour of the evaluation goes well, we require each dog to stay for either a Half day (under 6hrs) or Full day (over 6 hrs) session, after the evaluation, which is charged at the regular session rate.

The evaluation + daycare session allows us to confirm that your dog has positive interactions with other dogs and our team, is comfortable in a daycare environment, and meets all prerequisites (spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations).

We are unwavering on this commitment as should any other good pet care provider be. Throw Me A Bone reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse to provide services if we determine that a dog’s temperament is not suited for the requested service, or if a dog cannot be handled safely by our staff.
